(but you need to keep an open mind…).
Hopefully if you are here you know we have just undergone some serious renovations to our museum building.
This is thanks to a successful funding bid from SKDC’s Future High Street Fund, where we received £162,000 worth of repairs to our building, including the installation of a new heating system, improvements to our basement storage area and the creation of a kitchen on the ground floor.
Our volunteers have been very busy behind the scenes making huge changes to the museum, and we know this will be a huge work in progress for a few more weeks and months. This has involved moving cases to make a new route around the museum, painting the walls to bring more colour and light to the space, as well as deep cleaning!
We have decided the best thing to do is to open our doors, and show our lovely visitors what we have done so far, in the hopes that some will want to come in to volunteer and help us!
We look forward to opening our doors today, on Thursday October 2nd.
