Join us on Friday 31st July in the Museum at 2pm, as Lee Steptoe explains why Britain and France made no serious attempt to stop the aggressive expansion of dictators in the 1930s, as fear of another war, economic weakness, and misplaced trust in negotiation allowed their ambitions to go unchecked before the outbreak of World War II.
This is the sixth talk in our ‘20th Century International History’ series, presented by Lee throughout 2026. You can purchase a Series Ticket for access to all ten talks.
