TALK – Europe in 1900

February 27th @ 2:00 pm

Join us on Friday 27th February, in the Museum at 2pm, as we explore why Europe became divided into rival power blocs by 1900 and how competition, alliances and fear made the continent increasingly unstable. The talk examines how these tensions turned local disputes into international crises — and why Europe stood on the brink of catastrophe.

Speaker bio – Born and raised in Grantham, Lee Steptoe spent over 30 years teaching History at a local secondary school. Lee is currently a town and district councillor, and is deeply invested in the past, present, and future of the town. Believing that understanding history is essential to building a better future, Lee joined Grantham Museum as a Trustee to help preserve and share the stories that shape the community.
