Things are heating up here at Grantham Museum, as we have our new central heating system installed and updated!
This part of the project has been much needed for many years, as our old heating system was very old and took forever to heat up (if at all!). This led to many unhappy volunteers and visitors who came in over the winter to find it was just as cold inside as out. We are so thankful that is all in the past!
We now have a heating system that will warm up the museum spaces quickly and efficiently, meaning we can provide a much needed warm space in the heart of Grantham this winter! It also means that our bills will be much lower and we can be much more energy-efficient.
In the museum gallery, we have some lovely new radiators which will not only look better but will work better too. Upstairs, we are keeping our existing radiators as they just needed a little TLC to get them back to working as they should.
We look forward to opening our doors on Thursday October 2nd.
