This talk will take us back to discover all about Roman Lincolnshire and Roman Lincoln. Erik will look at the evidence we have for Roman Lincolnshire, how it changed over time, what Roman Lincoln was like and briefly how it all ended. Having taught Romans at University and to school groups in museums, Erik knows a lot about what we know plus (more importantly) what we do not know as well as what we think we know but is based on dodgy evidence.
About your speaker – Erik Grigg studied at the University of Manchester gaining an MA and PhD in early medieval history and worked for many years at Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Museum (formerly The Collection) delivering educational workshops for schools across the region. He is now a lecturer in History (and sometimes Military History and Archaeology) at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln. He has taught on courses on Roman Archaeology and the Late Antique world (300-900) and has written numerous articles on historical subjects as well as giving many talks across the county.
